The Revolutionaries of 1789 expelled them. Some sisters took refuge in Questembert, where on the 17th of November 1793, soldiers of the revolutionary army arrested them and took them by force back to Vannes.

The soldiers jailed them, with many other religious, in their own Community of St. Nicolas, which was transformed into a jail. Their detention lasted 15 months, until the fall of Robespierre.
